Most people have heard of Coolsculpting which uses cryolipolysis for permanent fat reduction, effectively freezing the fat cells. With TruSculpt iD, radiofrequency is used and for this reason, it provides skin tightening at same time as fat reduction. Whats more, a larger area can be treated and only one treatment is needed with the Trusculpt iD vs Coolsculpting.
Trusculpt iD is a safe and effective technology that is clinically proven to permanently eliminate fat cells in stubborn areas anywhere on the body including the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, and chin. With TruSculpt iD, you can lose the inches and get the body definition you want, even in areas that haven’t improved with just diet and exercise.
HOW does it WORK?
• truSculpt iD uses radiofrequency to target fat and heat it up to a level of fat cell death, after which the body eliminates it naturally. It also tightens the skin in the treatment area so you aren’t left with hanging skin once the fat is removed.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT THAN OTHER BODY SCULPTING PROCEDURES like coolsulpting?
Trusculpt iD is fully customizable so that potentially any area of the body (except the face) can be treated effectively. Other body contouring technologies such as coolsculpting can only treat areas that have pinchable fat that can be sucked into the applicator.
Since the Trusculpt iD uses radiofrequency to target the fat, it will tighten the skin at the same time. Radiofrequency is currently the best modality used for skin tightening so you are getting an effective treatment for both concerns.
Trusculpt iD has minimal discomfort and has been compared to a hot stone massage. Our patients have felt a very pleasant surprise with the comfort of this technology compared to other body contouring procedures such as Coolsculpting.
There is no downtime after the Trusculpt iD procedure. In fact, many of our patients come during their lunch break and go back to work right afterwards. Other procedures such as Coolsculpting or Sculpsure have downtime with pain, bruising and temporary nerve damage.
The treatment time is dependent on the treatment size and how many areas are treated. Each treatment is 15 minutes per area- so for example, stomach would be 15 minutes and thighs would be another 15 minutes. With Coolsculpting, each area takes 35-60 minutes.
Typically, only 1 treatment is needed to achieve the 24% reduction of fat. Maximum results are visible after 12 weeks. Additional treatments may be required to achieve the personalized results you desire. Other modalities such as Coolsculpting require 2 or sometimes 3 treatments to achieve 24% reduction of fat.

Yes, this treatment can be done on all skin types and over tattoos.
+ How long does a treatment take?
Procedure time depends on the size and number of treatment areas. Each area takes 15 minutes to treat. More than one area can be treated in the same visit. If two areas are desired for a treatment (for example stomach and thighs, then two 15 minute treatments will be performed).
+ How many treatments will be needed?
Typically only one treatment is needed to achieve the full 24% permanent reduction in fat. Multiple areas can be treated in the same session. Many patients love the results so much, they opt to do a second treatment in the same area for even better results.
+ What will the treatment feel like?
truSculpt iD procedures are typically described as feeling like a hot stone massage and then slowly progress as tolerated. Dr. Desai or her assistant is with you the entire time throughout the procedure and can increase or decrease the temperature of certain areas if some places are more sensitive than others. This allows the treatment to be both effective and tolerable at the same time!
+ Is there really no downtime?
There really is no downtime. You will be red/pink in the area for a few hours or up to a couple days but no one feels discomfort even while putting their tight pants back on. Most of our patients go directly back to work right afterwards!
+ When will I see results?
Results are seen about 6-8 weeks after one treatment with the full results coming in about 12 weeks after. The only thing that is expected of the treated patient is to drink lots of water and maintain the same weight. Multiple treatments can be done on the same area if further results are desired.
