lip, cheek, chin,& undereye injections in houston, TX

If you are starting to notice sagging in the face, looking tired or fatigued, wrinkles, thinning lips, laugh lines, marionette lines, dark circles and more, you will most likely benefit from dermal filler injections. Unlike Botox which is more for prevention, fillers are best used for correction. After the age of 30, there is a noticeable natural volume loss that occurs causing the cheeks to begin sagging and spurring the onset of facial aging.

At Artavi, our physician Dr. Desai studies each individual face closely and meticulously places filler to enhance the natural beauty, keeping you looking your best. Though there are several treatment area options to address your main concerns, the most natural results come from treating the face as a whole rather than just the parts. As our patients are typically working professionals who want to look their best, they come to see Dr. Desai for her expertise. These patients tend to leave extremely satisfied and come back with their friends and family for the same treatment. With the realization that our patients have had such a high satisfaction rate and have remained steadfastly loyal to our signature treatments, we invite you to book a consultation with Dr. Desai or our other medical professionals.

Whether it is under-eye hollows causing you to look tired or volume loss in the midface and lower causing the look of sagging in jowls, our highly trained experts will know exactly how to give you that undetectable improvement that you are looking for.

Your physician or provider will determine the type of filler you will need depending on the area being treated, age and condition of the skin and your medical history. Dr. Desai or your provider will review these with you during your consultation and together advise the best treatment plan for you.

A little bit of filler can go a long way in adding volume and smoothness to the face and bringing back the natural youthful look you once had. See our before and after lip and under eye filler photos below. Our most popular are cheek, lip, chin/jaw and under eye filler injections. Lip filler injections are best used to replace lost volume, smooth out lines in the lips, define the shape of the lip, or to naturally enhance the pout of the lip. Cheek filler injections can be used to collectively “lift” the face and soften lines and shadowing seen on the cheek or mouth folds. Under eye filler injections are best used to minimize the appearance of dark circles or hollowing and jawline injections are used to sharpen and define the jawline and minimize any appearance of a double chin.

Artavi Med Spa is proud to state that our dermal filler treatments are all performed by Dr. Desai, a highly trained physician and one of the top injectors in Houston and the top injector in the Houston Heights in TX. Hailed as a platinum plus status provider by Allergan, she has a higher magnitude of experience than most injectors in the area. Our company values include a focus on our patients with safety and comfort being the priority. As such we use advanced techniques with the microcannula method which proves to be safer, less painful, and provides minimal to no bruising. We also offer a full comfort menu to improve the total patient experience. The dermal fillers we use are hyaluronic acid based, which provide for the most natural look that most people desire. In addition, hyaluronic acid fillers have the potential to be reversed easily with the solution that dissolves the filler in cases of dissatisfaction or adverse events.

+ What is a dermal filler?

Dermal filler is a substance used to replace volume loss, fill in deep lines or wrinkles, and plump the skin for a youthful looking appearance. As we age, we lose volume and dermal filler replaces this volume. It is one of the best and quickest ways to restore a youthful appearance to the face. The most natural dermal filler is called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a lubricating substance that is produced naturally in the body, with highest concentrations in the skin and joints. It helps retain collagen and increase moisture, elasticity and firmness to the skin.

+ Is dermal filler safe?

We use hyaluronic acid fillers and since this is a naturally occurring substance in the body, there is no harmful or adverse effects of the filler itself. However, if the filler is not injected properly, there can be harm done. This is why it is important to have this procedure done by a trained physician in case of emergencies. We employ advanced techniques using microcannulas which prove to be much safer than traditional needles. In addition to having a physician on site, Artavi Med Spa keeps a crash cart available at all times in case of emergencies.

+ How long does the dermal filler last once injected?

The hyaluronic acid fillers will typically last between 6 months to one year and many can last up to two years. The length varies depending on how often it is maintained, where the filler is injected and how active the muscles are in that area. The more activity, the quicker the filler will degrade. As long as you keep up with the advised maintenance treatments, your filler can last longer over time. If the filler look is not desirable, it can be dissolved quickly and easily with the injection of a special medication.

+ How much do you charge for dermal fillers?

All of our prices are listed on our website under the prices tab. Pricing depends on the area you are looking to treat. There are different types of fillers for different areas and the amount required for a desired effect will also affect pricing. As dermal filler treatments are customized to each individual, it is impossible to determine exactly how much your price would be without a personal consultation. We offer consultations with any of our nurse injectors or with Dr. Desai during which time a price will be established. You may also visit our pricing page or call our office in Houston for more information.

+ I have a special event coming up. When should I receive dermal filler in time for my event?

We advise having the filler done at least four weeks in advance of your special event. This allows enough time for any bruising and swelling to go down and provides for the full effect of the filler.

+ How long does a dermal filler treatment take?

This will depend on what areas you are having the treatment performed. In general the treatment can last between 30 minutes to an hour per area. If you are seeing Dr. Desai, she will focus on facial balancing to give the most natural results. These visits can be an hour and a half to two and a half hours.

+ When will I see results?

The beauty of dermal fillers is that the result is immediate. You will experience some swelling and bruising, causing the area to look more “plump” than expected. The final result should be seen about 4 weeks post procedure, after the filler has had time to integrate into the surrounding tissues.

+ Does the treatment hurt?

This depends on the area injected. Some areas tend to be more uncomfortable than others. We provide a full comfort menu for those that prefer to relax throughout the procedure. We also provide different levels of anesthesia to help make the procedure as comfortable as possible. Using the microcannulas helps to make the treatment virtually painless.

+ Are there any side effects?

Serious side effects can occur if the treatment is performed by an inexperienced injector. These can include infection or even vascular compromise which can occur if the injector is not familiar with the facial anatomy or if post treatment instructions are not carefully followed. This is why it is important to have your injections done by a trained physician or medical provider. Other expected side effects include pain, swelling, and bruising. These are all drastically minimized by our use of microcannulas, an advanced technique.
