Laser Acne Treatment in Houston, TX
An innovative technology using a YAG laser to target and treat acne lesions, uneven skin tone, scars, and texture left behind by acne breakouts. The treatment is specific for acne breakouts and is safe for all skin types without any downtime!
We have been treating our patients with this procedure for some time and they all love it and always gravitate back towards it for their acne concerns.
+ What is an acne laser treatment?
The acne laser treatment is a non-invasive
approach to acne breakouts using
Cutera’s Nd:Yag laser. The procedure offers
the advantage of treating current breakouts and scars, preventing future scarring and inhibits future acne eruptions. It is a safe and relatively painless treatment for all skin types.
+ What areas can be treated?
The acne laser treatment is ideal for any part
of your face, neck and even back areas that have current breakouts whether they are cysts or mild eruptions.
+ What is the treatment like?
Your physician or her assistant will first ensure that you are not on any medications that may interfere with the treatment. Then a layer of cooling gel will be applied to the skin and eye goggles will be placed over your eyes. Then the laser will glide against the skin, pulsing intermittently to treat the acne lesions. The treatment will be done over the entire face or affected area to ensure best results.
+ What do treatments feel like?
When the gel is applied, it will feel cool. Then when the laser is touched against the skin, it will feel even more cool. As the laser is pulsed, you may feel a slight sense of warmth in that particular area only.
+ How long will the treatments take?
Treatment time depends on the area of
the body being treated. However, most
treatments should take less than 30 minutes.
+ How many treatments will I need?
Many patients will see results after one treatment though we recommend three to six treatments for optimal results. Additional treatments may be recommended, especially for patients with hormonal or heavier, cystic acne. Our treatments can be purchased as a package or as part of our membership to save on treatment pricing.
+ What happens after the treatment?
Immediately following treatment, the skin may feel warm and slightly pink or red. This typically lasts a few hours. Make-up can be
applied to cover the redness
+ What should I do to prepare for the treatment?
You will need to make sure you are off any antibiotics or accutane and you will need to stop your retinol 3 days prior. Please contact our office with any specific questions on length of time needed to be off medications. As always, please be sure to let Dr. Desai or your practicioner know about any current or recent history of medications.
