ProNox for pain management
At Artavi Med Spa, we do anything we can to help our patients feel comfortable during their treatments which is why we offer Pronox! The Pronox Aesthetic System is a device that offers a blend of 50/50 inhaled oxygen and nitrous oxide to provide quick pain relief during aesthetic procedures. It can be used in combination with local anesthetics like lidocaine or even as a safer alternative to those anesthetics.
We are very excited to be able to offer this cutting edge technology for our patients at Artavi Med Spa! Normally patients are given some type of oral anxiety or pain medication to help them relax during treatments however, since those medications stay in the system for an extended period of time, the patients need someone to drive them to and from their appointments. These medications can also have some minor systemic effects on the body. With Pronox, these issues do not exist and the effect of the gases resolves after 8-10 minutes from last use so it is ideal for use during these short minimally invasive procedures, allowing our patients to have no side effects and to drive themselves immediately afterwards.
+ What is Pronox?
Pronox, also known as "laughing gas," is a safe mixture of 50/50 nitrous oxide and oxygen used to help minimize anxiety and discomfort during aesthetic treatments. It provides a sense of euphoria that is patient controlled, zero to minimal side effects, safest type of anesthetic that can be used without any lingering effects.
+ What procedures can Pronox be used for?
Pronox can be used for virtually any aesthetic treatment. We highly recommend most of our patients use it for Secret RF and dermal fillers. It can be also be used for IPL, Laser Genesis, Laser Hair Removal, Trusculpt iD, Botox, or anything that may cause anxiety or discomfort. However, we are unable to use it for those receiving lip fillers.
+ What can I expect while using the Pronox system?
A new, indvidually packaged breathing tube, hose, and nose clip is used for every single patient at each visit. The patient will sit or lay on their treatment table and be asked to take in 6-8 deep breaths and exhale using the tube. After about 3 breaths, you will start to feel some of the effects and after about 6 breaths, you should feel some euphoria. The system is patient controlled which means the patient will take breaths as desired throughout their treatment. The effects after each breath usually last about 8-10 minutes so the patient does not constantly have to breathe in and out through the tube.
